Polegate calendar 2014

The success of the “Polegate and local village life calendar 2013” has led Dan Dunbar to open the competition up again to all local residents for the fourth year running. Residents have the chance to showcase their photographs in a calendar, which will then be available in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. “This is a chance for local people to use photography to show what living and working in Polegate means to them”.

Residents are being asked to submit photographs taken from in and around Polegate. That include buildings, scenery, local events and positive aspects of living in the area. Judges will be looking for new creative approach's to well known Polegate and local landmarks and good technical ability.

Dan Dunbar, competition organiser said: “After the success with the three pervious calendar's. I want the community to get involved to achieve another great calendar in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. “ I want local people to use photography to capture well known local and recognisable views from a new angle, to show Polegate and the local area from a new and interesting viewpoint.

The competition is open to all local residents who have until midday Friday 25th October to enter their four images into the competition. Calendars will than be available from the St Wilfrid’s Hospice charity shop Poleagte along with other Polegate shops from late November. Polegate Calendar raises over £1,500 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.

Dan Dunbar has once again presented a cheque to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, this year he has raised £1,520 through the sale of his popular Polegate and Village calendar.  This is the third year running that Dan has organised the photography competition.  Dan asks for local people to enter photographs of their favourite local sites, which Dan then reproduces them into a calendar  sponsored by local businesses.

Dan Dunbar said, “Polegate and local residents have been very supportive in making the calendar a continuing success for a third year.  I would like to thank everyone involved for their support especially those who have purchased a calendar.  I would like to extend my thanks to the sponsors for making it possible to produce the calendars and also to those who have been selling the calendars in local shops” Dan also added he would like local people to start thinking about images for the 2014 calendar.

Chris Clark, Events Administrator at St Wilfrid’s said “We are extremely grateful for Dan’s continued support and for all his hard work in producing this calendar.  The support of our local community is particularly important to us in 2013 with our new Hospice nearing completion and the celebrations for our 30th birthday.  Our thanks go to Dan and everyone who has supported him by either buying or selling this year’s calendar”
