Polegate Calendar raises £1,400 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice

Dan Dunbar this week presented a cheque to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, he has raised £1,400 through the sale of his popular Polegate photography calendar. This is the fifth year running Dan has organised the photography competition for local people. Dan asked for local people to enter photographs of their favourite local sites, which he then reproduced into a calendar sponsored by local businesses.

Dan, said, “Polegate and local residents have been very supportive for the fifth year running in making the calendar a success yet again. I would like to thank my sponsors who make it possible to create the popular calendar and everyone involved for their support especially those who have been selling the calendars in local shops and a big thank you to everyone who has purchased a calendar in making it another great success.

Chris Clark, Community Support Co-ordinator at St Wilfrid's said "A huge thank you to Dan for once again organising this competition in aid of St Wilfrid's, the calendar always proves popular and raises a considerable amount of money.”

Dan continued to say this would be the last Polegate Calendar for a few years as he has decided to put the project on hold to enable it to refresh itself. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the businesses and residents of Polegate for their fantastic and continued support over the last five years. Firstly, a special thank you to all my sponsors who, without them, the calendar wouldn't have been possible, all the people who have sent me photographs over the last five years and lastly, all the people who have sold and bought the calendars – it's thanks to you all that it has raised over £7,000 in the last five years for local charities. The support I have received from the people of Polegate has been wonderful and allowed me to create great calendars which have raised so much. Thank you – it is much appreciated.
