Polegate photography calendar rasies £1,500


Dan Dunbar this week has presented a cheque to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, he has raised £1,500 through the sale of his popular Polegate and Village photography calendar. This is the fourth year running Dan has organised the photography competition for local people. Dan asks for local people to enter photographs of their favourite local sites, which Dan then reproduces into a calendar sponsored by local businesses.

Dan, said, “Polegate and local residents have been very supportive for the fourth year running in making the calendar a continued success. I would like thank my sponsors who make it possible to create the popular calendar and everyone involved for their support especially those who have been selling the calendars in local shops and a big thank you to everyone who has purchased a calendar in making it another great success. Dan also mentioned he would like local people to start snapping local viewpoints ready for next years calender.

 Chris Clark, Community Support Co-ordinator at St Wilfrid's said " A huge thank you to Dan for once again organising this competition in aid of St Wilfrid's, the calendar always proves popular and raises a considerable amount of  money and, hopefully, will continue to be a part of Polegate life for many years to come."

Polegate Photography Calendar goes on sale


The popular Polegate photography calendar has gone on sale. The calendar showcasing images of Polegate and local villages, In aid of St Wilfrid's Hospice is available from Withers DIY, Archer and partners, Streetons News, The Hair shop and St Wilfrid's Hospice Charity shop Polegate.

Organiser Dan Dunbar said “ This years calendar has again been very well supported, with the quality of images very high which has produced a great calendar to be sold for such a worthwhile charity. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the people of Polegate for their ongoing support in making the Polegate calendar a success especially my sponsors who have made the calendar possible.

Polegate calendar 2014

 
The success of the “Polegate and local village life calendar 2013” has led Dan Dunbar to open the competition up again to all local residents for the fourth year running. Residents have the chance to showcase their photographs in a calendar, which will then be available in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. “This is a chance for local people to use photography to show what living and working in Polegate means to them”.

Residents are being asked to submit photographs taken from in and around Polegate. That include buildings, scenery, local events and positive aspects of living in the area. Judges will be looking for new creative approach's to well known Polegate and local landmarks and good technical ability.

Dan Dunbar, competition organiser said: “After the success with the three pervious calendar's. I want the community to get involved to achieve another great calendar in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice. “ I want local people to use photography to capture well known local and recognisable views from a new angle, to show Polegate and the local area from a new and interesting viewpoint.

The competition is open to all local residents who have until midday Friday 25th October to enter their four images into the competition. Calendars will than be available from the St Wilfrid’s Hospice charity shop Poleagte along with other Polegate shops from late November. Images can be sent along with the image title and your contact details to the Polegate Town Council, 49 High Street,Polegate.

Arts Award Voice


 
Arts Award Voice is a new youth platform, which was recently created. It is a magazine website, run for young people by young people, which helps young people make the most of doing their Arts Award.

Polegate Calendar raises over £1,500 for St Wilfrid’s Hospice.


Dan Dunbar has once again presented a cheque to St Wilfrid’s Hospice, this year he has raised £1,520 through the sale of his popular Polegate and Village calendar.  This is the third year running that Dan has organised the photography competition.  Dan asks for local people to enter photographs of their favourite local sites, which Dan then reproduces them into a calendar  sponsored by local businesses.


Dan Dunbar said, “Polegate and local residents have been very supportive in making the calendar a continuing success for a third year.  I would like to thank everyone involved for their support especially those who have purchased a calendar.  I would like to extend my thanks to the sponsors for making it possible to produce the calendars and also to those who have been selling the calendars in local shops” Dan also added he would like local people to start thinking about images for the 2014 calendar.  


Chris Clark, Events Administrator at St Wilfrid’s said “We are extremely grateful for Dan’s continued support and for all his hard work in producing this calendar.  The support of our local community is particularly important to us in 2013 with our new Hospice nearing completion and the celebrations for our 30th birthday.  Our thanks go to Dan and everyone who has supported him by either buying or selling this year’s calendar”

The Polegate and Village life photography calendar showcase images of Polegate, Wannock and Alfriston, In aid of St Wilfrid's Hospice is now on sale. The charity calendar will be sold at £5, with proceeds going directly to St Wilfrid's Hospice, which are available from: Withers DIY, Archer and partners, Streetons News, St Wilfrid's Hospice Charity shop and the Hair shop Polegate.
